What is "C.L.T."?
C.L.T. stands for "Certified Livestock Transporters" & is a series of 5 modules designed specifically to address a need for standardization within the livestock transport sector. The modules cover specie-specific handling practices for cattle, swine, sheep, horses, & poultry.
The CLT course has become increasingly in demand for not only reputable transport companies and those hauling their own livestock to market, but also to processing facilities, feedlots & sale yards across Canada. Many of the larger plants now require all drivers haulihng in or out of their facilities to be CLT trained. Visit the Certified Livestock Transport website for more in-depth information on the course & its many benefits.
I am currently the only accredited CLT trainer in BC, and will be delivering a series of general (all 5 modules) and specie-specific courses tailored for unique operations. For more information on upcoming courses and to request materials, please contact Geraldine Auston at the BC Farm Animal Care Council at 604-287-3276, or e-mail her at info@bcfacc.ca
