Drum horse is a fairly young breed that originated in the USA In the early 21st century. A Drum horse comes from mixing Clydesdale, Friesian, Gypsy Cobs, and Shire breeds. In order to be called a Drum horse, the animal should have at least 7/8 of any of the combination of the above 4 breeds and be pinto in color. These horses stand about 16.2 hands high. They are considered to be heavy riding horses. Drum equines have a calm temper. They are athletic, agile, and can produce great results art various disciplines. Initially, Drum equines were animals that carried heavy drums. They used to be war horses in the Queen of England cavalry. Once the Drum breed took on a new meaning in the 21st century, the requirements for the endurance of this horse stayed the same. Drum horses must be athletic-looking and display muscles.
